Religious

Interested in the religious aspect of the series.  Do you have a strong connection to the Episcopal church?  Is that the reason this is such a large part of the series?  I really enjoy this setting in your books.  I enjoy the verses and her prayers. See More

Love/hate the cliffhanger!

What a cliffhanger at the end of Through the Evil Days.  Without spoilers, I was stunned the way it ended and kept saying to myself "that can't be the end of chapter 89, there has to be more to it."

Great job on the series, I've enjoyed the character and plot development and feel treated with intelligence and often with wonderful sense of humor.  I care what happens to Clare, Russ, baby and Oscar; whether Dep will retire soon, if  and yes, of course, if there is any hope for Flynn…

My heart is just breaking for Kevin and Hadley...

Because I love this series so much, I would be willing to consider any recommendations Julia has. She has gotten me into the Inspector Armand Gamache series by Louise Penny. Any other recommendations, either from Julia or from my fellow bloggers?

When Will the Next Book be Out?

As you may know, I'm working on the next book in the series. Its working title is SEVEN WHOLE DAYS, but don't count on that to last because the booksellers I've spoken to all went, "Blaaah," when I tried out the title on them. The novel opens about two months after the end of ONE WAS A SOLDIER and, as you might guess from the title, takes place over a single week.

Right now, it looks as if publication will be at the end of 2012 or beginning of 2013. I'll let you know when I…

Wednesday got away from me!

But I finally got this week's excerpt up. Thanks for your patience.

I just found out tonight's my 11-year-old's school choir Christmas concert. It's rainy and cold and all I could think was "Nooooooo....." making me a combination of Bad Mom and Scrooge. The things we do for our kids.

Sorry about the delay getting WIP Wednesday up!

It's been crazy busy and my poor HH's back is out, so I'm doing single-parent duty.
