I just wanted to let the author of these amazing books how much I love them.  I have read all the series (currently reading Through the Evil Days).  Miller's Kill is a place I love to visit and hate to leave.  This series combines 2 things I dearly love: the Episcopal Church, it's beauties and ceremonies and music, and murder mysteries in such a unique way.  Hoping for another.See More

Is there a publication date for book #9 in the Clare/Russ series? I am having serious withdrawal from this storyline.I had the privilege of attending a gathering with Julia at the Meredith, NH Library - a fond memory to say the least!See More

Can't wait for Book 9!

A friend recommended Julia's books and I mistakenly started with Book 6. Didn't take long to realize I needed to start at the beginning. I was hopelessly hooked, with all 8 books downloaded to my Kindle, and couldn't put them down. I have already read them all twice and now find myself missing all things Russ and Clare, Kevin and Hadley. So glad I found this site.  Julia's books are intelligent, literate and the dialog real. The overlay with scripture and ritual is a nice touch. Love the…

Series

I have read all your books and enjoyed each one even more than the last.  I like that the series progresses through the relationships and grows on it.

I know plots are important, but why did Hadley not destroy tapes?

Book Recommendations 25 Replies

Because I love this series so much, I would be willing to consider any recommendations Julia has. She has gotten me into the Inspector Armand Gamache series by Louise Penny. Any other recommendations, either from Julia or from my fellow bloggers?

When Will the Next Book be Out?

As you may know, I'm working on the next book in the series. Its working title is SEVEN WHOLE DAYS, but don't count on that to last because the booksellers I've spoken to all went, "Blaaah," when I tried out the title on them. The novel opens about two months after the end of ONE WAS A SOLDIER and, as you might guess from the title, takes place over a single week.

Right now, it looks as if publication will be at the end of 2012 or beginning of 2013. I'll let you know when I…

Wednesday got away from me!

But I finally got this week's excerpt up. Thanks for your patience.

I just found out tonight's my 11-year-old's school choir Christmas concert. It's rainy and cold and all I could think was "Nooooooo....." making me a combination of Bad Mom and Scrooge. The things we do for our kids.

Sorry about the delay getting WIP Wednesday up!

It's been crazy busy and my poor HH's back is out, so I'm doing single-parent duty.
